Eric has worked exclusively in the film and television industry for over 30 years. His recent credits include AMERICAN GODS, VIKINGS, THE KNICK, and as JACK HYDE in the billion dollar FIFTY SHADES OF GREY franchise.
Eric’s extensive career as an actor includes lead roles in over 70 different productions but he is also a talent as a screenwriter & director. In 2002, he directed the CRAZY8’s film CANDY FROM STRANGERS from a script by wife and Process co-founder, Adria Budd-Johnson. In 2004, Eric produced, wrote, directed, edited and composed his DGC Kickstart short film, FISHBOWL which played in festivals around the world. It was nominated for two Leo awards, including Eric, for Best Editor. His debut feature film BEST DAY EVER: Aiden Kesler 1994-2011, which he co-wrote, co-directed, produced and edited and was distributed by Syndicado. Eric directed the Audience Choice Award winner SHELLY for the 2013 Toronto 48hour films festival.
IN DIOS, a feature film script he co-wrote with Andrew Genaille was runner up in the Harold Greenberg Fund Canadian Film Festival script competition. Eric also co-wrote, S.O.S. with director Brett Sullivan. The film is being financed as a Singapore-Canadian co-production and will be produced by partner Adria and Sidney Chiu, with Tricoast Worldwide and Levelfilm releasing.
Eric currently stars in HBO Max’s hit horror series PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: ORIGINAL SIN.
Adria is co-founder, with husband Eric Johnson, of the Toronto-based production company, Process Entertainment Inc that they established in 2017. Though they had been creating content together since 2002, this company provided the larger scope to realize their collective projects.
Her involvement in the entertainment industry spans over 40 years, beginning with extensive work as a child actor, Adria then attended NAIT’s Television program. She completed that degree with an internship at Warner Studios and later took certificate programs at UCLA & UBC Film studies.
She’s worked in development, production and as a writer on computer animated tv series, IMAX Ridefilms and feature films, as well as numerous live action films and tv series. Adria wrote and/or produced several short films before she produced feature film, BEST DAY EVER: AIDEN KESLER 1994-2011.
Projects in development include: Harold Greenburg Feature film script fund recipient REMIND ME, from award winning screenwriter A.R. Berzins, with Take the Shot Productions; 2019 JETS Initiative winner, LevelFilm thriller feature film S.O.S., the first Singapore-Canadian feature treaty co-production, starring Amybeth McNulty, Byron Mann & co-written & directed by Brett Sullivan, and Co- Executive Producer on the upcoming Superchannel feature documentary about Phoolan Devi, India’s inspiring Bandit Queen turned Parliamentarian.
Adria is currently writing on an exciting new mobile game, KATOA from Snowed-In Studios and Sankari Studios. She is a member of the WGC, CMPA, WIFT-T and a Transatlantic Partners Alumna.
